Seattle Sounders unveil new primary jersey for 2018 season

"A New Rave Green" has arrived.

The Seattle Sounders unveiled their new primary kits on Monday, revealing a few new twists on their familiar look and paying sartorial tribute to their devoted supporters.

The jersey (modeled here by Sounders Will Bruin, at left, and Kelvin Leerdam, at right, with Stefan Frei garbed in the 2018 goalkeepers kit at center) sports a new print on the front and sleeves, and will be on sale on Feb. 10 at MLSstore.com:

Along the back neckline, the phrase "You Will Hear Us" is featured, the motto of beloved fan site SounderAtHeart.com, which is itself a snippet from the full verse paying tribute to Seattle's hordes of noisy fans: Nos audietis in somniis/nos audietis in alto ("You will hear us in your sleep/You will hear us from the deep").

The phrase was included in the kits at the suggestion of Seattle's Alliance Council, and approved by Sounder At Heart:

Speaking of the Alliance Council, that unique facet of the Sounders community is also celebrated in this kit, with a jock tag marking its 10th year of existence:

SSFCs new look will go on sale starting Feb. 10, and will feature in the 2018 Sounders FC Jersey Launch event at the CenturyLink Field Pro Shop from 10 am to 1 pm PT that day, in addition to MLSstore.com.
