Fiorentina ask Napoli for Emanuele Giaccherini (Sport Italia)

Fiorentina have asked Napoli for the availability of Emanuele Giaccherini ahead of the transfer deadline on Thursday.

According to Sportitalia, Stefano Pioli’s Viola approached them to set up a possible move.

The 32-year-old winger is under contract until June 2019 and only arrived from Sunderland a year ago for €1.5m.

He made just 20 competitive appearances for the club, scoring two goals.

Napoli are more than open to selling Giaccherini, especially as it would free them to complete the signature of Oleksandr Zinchenko on loan with option to buy from Manchester City.
