Columbus Crew SC sign Joe Bendik after acquiring rights from Orlando City

Columbus Crew SC have completed the signing of goalkeeper Joe Bendik after the club sent $50,000 Targeted Allocation Money to Orlando City SC to acquire his first right of refusal, Crew SC announced Thursday.
Bendik, 29, spent the last three seasons with Orlando City, making 92 appearances with 13 shutouts. His contract option was declined following the season. He spent the three years prior to Orlando with Toronto FC after making his MLS debut with the Portland Timbers. He made five appearances for Portland and 73 for Toronto.
The Crew have already confirmed the sale of 2018 Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Zack Steffen to Manchester City, though he will remain in Columbus until the summer.
