Having proved a hard nut to crack at the World Cup so far, Al Hain-Cole is backing Hareide's men to put up a stern resistance against the Vatreni

After reaching the last 16 for the first time since their memorable 1998 World Cup, Croatia will be confident of progressing even further when they take on Denmark on Sunday.

The Vatreni's only previous experience of the World Cup knockout stages saw them finish third in their first ever tournament, some 20 years ago.

Having won all three of their group matches, they are priced at 20/23 (1.87) with SportPesa to move one step closer to replicating that feat by coming out on top in Nizhny Novgorod.

Age Hareide's men have reached the last 16 for the fourth time in five appearances, although are 4/1 (5.00) outsiders to take their place in quarter-finals for just the second time in their history with a win.

Hareide's team made it through the group stages despite drawing their last two matches, and you can get odds of 9/4 (3.25) on them taking this clash into extra-time after another stalemate.

Zlatko Dalic made eight changes to his line-up for the final group game versus Iceland, but is almost certain to bring the likes of Ivan Rakitic, Marcelo Brozovic and Mario Mandzukic back into the starting XI for this one.

Lasse Schone is set to start in midfield once again despite William Kvist returning to the squad following injury, while Yussuf Poulsen is available again after missing the France match through suspension.

As the only goalless draw in an otherwise entertaining World Cup, Denmark's final group game against France deserves to be forgotten.

Nevertheless, the defensive resolve on display in that clash was typical of the Scandinavian outfit, who have conceded just a single goal so far this tournament - a controversial penalty against Australia.

As clear underdogs for this game, the Danes are sure to set their stall out defensively as they attempt to frustrate Dalic's side.

While this is easier said than done against a team that won all three of their group games, including a 3-0 thrashing of Argentina, they will at least back themselves to hold out until late into the match.

Just two of Denmark's last 10 fixtures have featured goals before the break, meaning odds of 11/10 (2.10) look like solid value on the second half proving the highest-scoring for Croatia's sixth game in seven.
