Rwanda’s national football team, the Amavubi, have officially parted company with head coach Adel Amrouche following a mutual agreement between both parties, bringing an end to his tenure with immediate effect.

The Rwandan Football Federation confirmed the decision on Tuesday, stating that the separation was reached amicably after discussions about the team’s direction and long-term ambitions. While details of the agreement were not disclosed, both sides emphasized respect and professionalism in the process.

Amrouche, who took charge with the mission of rebuilding and strengthening the Amavubi, oversaw a period of transition for the national team, introducing new faces and seeking to instill a more competitive identity. His time on the bench was marked by a focus on discipline, tactical organization, and giving opportunities to emerging talents.

Despite some positive signs, results and performances have not fully matched the expectations of the federation and supporters, prompting a joint decision to allow both parties to move forward separately.

Attention now turns to the appointment of a new head coach, who will be tasked with guiding Rwanda through upcoming international commitments and continuing the long-term project of developing Rwandan football. For Amrouche, the separation opens the door to new opportunities elsewhere, while the Amavubi begin the search for fresh leadership to steer the team into its next phase.
