The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has issued a strong communiqué calling on supporters to respect safety rules and uphold good conduct ahead of the highly anticipated AFCON 2025 semi-final against Egypt, scheduled for January 14, 2026, at the Grand Stade de Tanger in Morocco.

In the official statement, the FSF reminded fans that this decisive match is not only a major sporting event but also a moment that places Senegalese football under the spotlight of the entire continent and the world. The federation urged all supporters to display exemplary, responsible, and respectful behavior in line with the regulations in force.

The FSF firmly recalled that the introduction and use of flares, laser pointers, or any other dangerous objects are strictly prohibited inside the stadium and in its immediate surroundings. According to the federation, such practices seriously compromise the safety of players, officials, and the public, and also damage the image and reputation of Senegalese football on the international stage.

The statement further warned that, following regrettable incidents during previous matches involving Benin vs Senegal and Mali vs Senegal, the national team has already been exposed to heavy disciplinary sanctions from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Any further misconduct could therefore have serious consequences.

In a final appeal, the FSF called on the supporters’ sense of responsibility and patriotism to ensure that the semi-final remains a true celebration of African football, marked by fair play and security. Fans were encouraged to support the Lions of Teranga with passion, but while maintaining “irreproachable discipline.”

The communiqué, signed by the Secretary General of the FSF, underlines the importance of behavior in the stands as Senegal prepares for a crucial showdown against Egypt, with a place in the AFCON final at stake.
