AFCON 2025: Super Eagles land in Marrakech for Algeria clash

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have touched down in Marrakech ahead of their highly anticipated AFCON quarter-final clash against Algeria’s Desert Foxes.

Head coach Éric Chelle and the squad proceeded straight to their new base at the Savoy Le Grande Hotel shortly after arriving in the North African city, as they begin final preparations for the knockout showdown.

The Nigerian team previously enjoyed a hitch-free stay in Fès, where they built strong momentum in the competition.

The three-time African champions recorded victories in all four of their matches at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, including their Round of 16 triumph over the Mambas of Mozambique.

With attention now shifting to Marrakech, the Super Eagles are scheduled to hold their first training session later tonight at 6:00 p.m. local time, as confirmed by team officials.

Saturday’s quarter-final encounter will take place at the Stade de Marrakech, with both teams battling for a place in the semi-final stage of Africa’s biggest football tournament.
