AFCON 2025: Regragui unsure about Amrabat’s availability

Wamid Regragui gave an update on his team at a press conference on Thursday, January 8, on the eve of the Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal against Cameroon.

The national coach first mentioned the return of Hamza Igamane, who was injured while playing for his club and is currently recovering, while Romain Saïss continues his rehabilitation.

But the main concern is Sofyan Amrabat: injured in the ankle during a match with Betis, the Moroccan midfielder has not yet fully recovered.

“Amrabat is still suffering from the ankle injury he sustained while playing for Betis. Unfortunately, he is not 100%. We will see if we can play him at the start or end of the match,” explained Regragui.

“In any case, he is in pain, and we are doing everything we can to get him back to full fitness.”
