Morocco coach Regragui gives Sofyan Amrabat injury update

At a press conference this Thursday, January 8, on the eve of the quarter-final clash against Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations being held in Morocco, Walid Regragui provided an update on his squad.

The national team coach first addressed the return of Hamza Igamane, who was injured at his club and is currently in the recovery phase, while Romain Saïss is still continuing his rehabilitation.

But the main concern is Sofyan Amrabat: sidelined with an ankle injury sustained while playing for Betis, the Moroccan midfielder has not yet fully recovered.

“Amrabat is still dealing with his ankle injury from his time with Betis. Unfortunately, he’s not at 100%. Whether we can use him at the beginning or end of the match, we’ll see,” explained Regragui.

“In any case, he’s suffering, and we’re doing everything we can to get him back to 100% for us.”
