Nigeria’s Super Eagles will leave Fez for Marrakech on Thursday, January 8, as they intensify preparations for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final fixture.

The team’s Media Officer, Promise Efoghe, disclosed the travel plan on Tuesday, confirming that after playing all their group stage and Round of 16 matches in Fez, the squad will now relocate to Marrakech for the next phase of the tournament.

The Super Eagles await either DR Congo or Algeria as their quarter-final opponents, with both teams set to battle for the remaining slot.

Nigeria stormed into the last eight in style, thrashing Mozambique 4-0 in Monday’s Round of 16 clash, a dominant performance that reaffirmed the team’s title credentials.

Efoghe also provided updates on the team’s fitness and schedule, revealing that a recovery session will take place on Tuesday at the Sardienne Complex, while 26 players will participate in full training.

Defender Ryan Alebiosu, who is currently injured, will continue his personalized rehabilitation programme away from the main group.

Addressing circulating reports around striker Akor Adams, Efoghe dismissed claims that the player had left camp on a long-term basis.

He clarified that the Sevilla star only stepped out briefly to visit his parents, who are currently in Fez and live just minutes away from the team’s hotel.

He added that Akor returned to camp in under an hour, before lunch, and remains fully committed to the team’s AFCON campaign.

With momentum firmly on their side, the Super Eagles will hope the shift to Marrakech brings another chapter of success as they chase continental glory.
