Senegalese fan dies on her way to the stadium

A Senegalese fan died in a car accident on Saturday while traveling to Tangier to support the Lions of Teranga in their AFCON 2025 round of 16 match against Sudan.

The Senegalese Football Federation paid tribute to her on Sunday evening, confirming the tragedy after Senegal’s 3–1 victory and qualification for the quarterfinals.

“The Senegalese Football Federation is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Aïda Faye Samb, following a traffic accident on the Rabat-Kenitra highway,” the FSF said in a statement.

It added: “In these painful circumstances, the FSF extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved family, her loved ones, and the entire Senegalese football family.”
