Laporta is a manipulative person. Xavi earlier announced that he was leaving because he knew that Laporta wanted to sack him. This hurt the ego of Laporta and he got different influential persons to convinced Xavi to stay only to now actually sack him. I guess the severance package Xavi will get for being sacked did not make him quickly announce that he has changed his mind and will go back to his initial decision to walk away. It is more beneficial for the brand of an organisation to sack a staff than for the staff to resign. For a staff, it is more honourable to walk away than to be sacked. All the best Xavi Hernandez!
