Cristiano Ronaldo has broken yet another record after he was named in his sixth European Championship squad for Portugal.

Roberto Martinez has named his 26-man squad for this summer's tournament in Germany which features a mixture of experience and talented youngsters.

The oldest player in the squad is Ronaldo's former Real Madrid team-mate Pepe, who is now second on the all-time list of European Championship selections with five.

Al-Nassr star Ronaldo made his international debut 21 years ago on August 20, 2003.

Portugal's Euro 2024 squad includes two players who were born after Ronaldo's first senior cap, Benfica pair Antonio Silva and Joao Neves.

Ronaldo broke the record for most European Championships with five at Euro 2020 and has now extended his record.

He reached the final at his first Euros back in 2004, where Portugal suffered a shock defeat to Greece in the final.

Ronaldo had to wait 12 years for Portugal to reach the final again, and despite coming off with an injury during the game, they beat France 1-0 thanks to an extra-time winner by Eder.

There are a host of recognisable Premier League faces in the team including Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Manchester City's Ruben Dias, Joao Palhinha of Fulham and Wolves pair Nelson Semedo and Jose Sa.

Portugal are stacked with attacking talent, with the likes of Bernardo Silva, Diogo Jota, Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Rafael Leao all making the cut.

Martinez's side will be strong favourites to qualify out of Group F as winners.

Their group consists of Turkey, Czech Republic and Georgia, and they will also be seen as contenders to win the entire tournament.

Eyes will be on how Martinez performs as Portugal boss, after many felt he underachieved during his prior stint with the Belgium set-up.

Belgium's 'Golden Generation' reached the semi-finals at the 2018 World Cup but struggled to live up to expectations with a team that consisted the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and more.

Portugal were knocked out by Martinez's Belgium at the Round of 16 stage at Euro 2020, and were knocked out of the quarter-finals by Morocco at the 2022 World Cup.
