PSG Women plot swoop for England and Manchester City star Chloe Kelly

Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Chloe Kelly from Manchester City this summer and make her the highest-paid women's player in Europe.

Kelly is one of the most recognisable stars in the women's game after firing England to glory in the 2022 European Championship Final at Wembley – the country's first major honour since 1966.

City want Kelly to sign a new contract before she enters the final year of her current deal.

However, the 26-year-old forward is understood to be putting negotiations off until the end of the season as she focuses on trying to win the club's first WSL title since 2016.

Gareth Taylor's side are currently second in the table, three points behind leaders Chelsea.

PSG are ready to tempt Kelly with an offer that would make her the best-paid player outside the United States, although other clubs could enter the bidding if it becomes clear that she is considering leaving City.

Kelly signed a two-year contract when she moved from Everton in 2020, and a three-year deal in February 2022 which runs out in 17 months' time.

The former Arsenal and QPR player's sensational goal direct from a corner against Leicester on Sunday took her total for City to eight in 18 appearances this season and 32 goals in 83 games overall.
