Al Ittihad target PSG captain Marquinhos

According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Saudi side Al Ittihad are targeting Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos (29).

Marquinhos’ role as PSG captain is currently under threat. According to reporting from RMC Sport, two votes have been held to elect Les Parisiens’ captain for the season. Marquinhos is the current proprietor of the armband, and it was the Brazilian international that came out on top in the first round of voting. However, amid internal doubts about Marquinhos’ suitability for the role, a fresh vote has been held – this time the ballot was private. The Brazilian is one of five candidates in the running for the role, according to Le Parisien.

Whilst questions over Marquinhos’ role as captain linger, his future at the club is also being called into question. According to Hawkins, Al Ittihad have targeted the Brazilian international. Whilst Marquinhos features on the Saudi side’s shortlist, the player himself isn’t interested in the move and wants to remain at PSG.
