Stuart Broad, the scourge of Australian batsmen in Ashes battles for the past 14 years, encouraged the Lionesses to take a Bazball approach to their date with destiny.
The recently-retired England fast bowler and Mail Sport columnist told Millie Bright’s team to have fun and play with smiles on their faces.
The 37-year-old, who closed his playing career by taking the final two wickets in a 49-run victory over Australia at the Oval last month that locked the Ashes at 2-2, said: ‘England v Australia, one of the great sporting rivalries - a World Cup semi-final in their own back yard, Sydney.
‘What an experience that will be. Enjoy every moment of it, have a lot of fun, play with a smile on your face, you are already inspiring a generation of football fans back home, so just look around and soak it all in. Bring it home!’
