Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and the rest of the US women's national team bundled up against the chilly New Zealand weather on Saturday as the squad prepares for a pivotal World Cup clash vs. Portugal.
It's summer back in the United States, but not at the USWNT's Auckland base, where temperatures reached a low of 39 degrees Fahrenheit (4 Celsius) in the early morning.
And veteran attacker Rapinoe was prepared for the cold as she donned a neck snood for the session.
The 38-year-old, who has not started either of the team's two group stage matches, looked focused as she spoke with star winger Sophia Smith at Bay City Park.
Morgan was all smiles as she stood beside Alyssa Thompson, with the pair opting to stay warm in long sleeves and pants.
Others, like Rose Lavelle and Lindsey Horan, braved the cold in shorts.
After an underwhelming 1-1 draw vs. the Netherlands, the USA needs a result vs. Portugal to guarantee progress to the knockout stage.
The USWNT is currently on top of Group E with four points, but the Netherlands are behind only on goal difference and Portugal have three points as well.
The Dutch will be expected to beat Vietnam, who are bottom of the group after losses to the USA and Portugal and now have nothing to play for but pride.
While the Americans control their own destiny, it hasn't quite been the start that fans would've hoped for.
A 3-0 win vs. Vietnam got the job done but was less emphatic than expected, while coach Vlatko Andonovski baffled supporters with his substitution patterns (or lack there of) against the Netherlands.
With the USA chasing an equalizer and later a winner, Andonovski made just one second-half sub, leaving the likes of Rapinoe, Thompson and Lynn Williams on the bench.
The Americans' final group clash vs. Portugal is at 3am ET (7pm local time) on Tuesday.
