FIFA has ZERO female commentators on their world feed

England will kick-start their Women's World Cup campaign when they take on Haiti in Brisbane on Saturday.

Sarina Wiegman is hoping that her Lionesses can follow-up on last year's European Championship success with a first World Cup title.

However, there will be no female commentators on FIFA's coverage of the competition in what is a remarkable oversight.

While, FIFA president Gianni Infantino was in no mood to discuss gender disparity in prize money.

FIFA'S COMMENTARY MESS

There are nine commentators on the world feed at this tournament and not one of them is female. It is a remarkable oversight.

The BBC have established commentators Robyn Cowen and Vicki Sparks leading their coverage, while the hugely respected Pien Meulensteen will be working for ITV.

But to have no women on FIFA’s world feed is poor. The co-commentary team includes Izzy Christiansen, Laura Bassett, Rehanne Skinner, Amy Chapman and Melissa Barbieri. But the lack of diversity does not send out a great message.

GIANNI INFANTINO REFUSES TO DISCUSS GENDER DISPARITY

After his infamous speech before the Qatar World Cup, it was a low-key affair as Gianni Infantino gave his opening remarks in New Zealand on Tuesday. ‘For those of you who are waiting to hear how I feel today… I feel tired because I have just landed,’ he said. ‘But I feel very happy.’

The FIFA president was in no mood to discuss gender disparity in prize money. ‘Money is always a tricky and sensitive issue,’ Infantino said. ‘It’s a moment to focus on the positives, the happiness and the joy.

'If somebody is still not happy about something, I’m sorry. I’m happy with everything and I love everyone.’
