Tottenham forward Son Heung-min has admitted he turned down the chance to move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

The Middle East nation have been making major waves in the transfer market in recent weeks, attracting some of the biggest names in the sport including Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante over to the Saudi Pro League.

Son has revealed he also had the opportunity to play in Saudi Arabia, and strongly hinted that he would have earned far more than he currently does at Spurs, but he chose to stay put due to having unfinished business in the Premier League.

'If I wanted to go there, I would not be here!' Son told a press conference during Tottenham's pre-season tour of Australia.

'I love playing football. Obviously money is also important but I dream for playing (in the) Premier League.'

Son admitted the prospect of switching England for Saudi Arabia is a tempting one, having seen several Premier League stars make the move over the past month.

But he reiterated his commitment to Tottenham, insisting he has no intention of leaving England just yet.

'Most people are going (to Saudi Arabia) at the moment which is really, really interesting, but the Premier League is still a dream for me to play for it, so I'm looking forward to this season,' he added.

Son joined Tottenham in 2015 and has become a fans' favourite over the past eight years, scoring 145 goals in 372 appearances for the club.

He won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2021-22, but endured a miserable campaign last season as he struggled for form, with Tottenham finishing outside the European places.

The South Korean winger subsequently opened up about his fitness issues throughout the season, revealing he played through the pain barrier for nine months.

After undergoing hernia surgery at the end of the season, Son is determined to put the past 12 months behind him and prove that he remains one of the Premier League's best players under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

'Last season I really suffered physically,' he said. 'I want to prove this season that I'm the Sonny that we all know.'
