Sarina Wiegman's side looked in good spirits as they took part in their first training session in Australia today ahead of this year's Women's World Cup.

England Women arrived in their first base in Queensland on Friday after completing a mammoth 36-hour trip to get to the tournament.

Upon arriving at their hotel, the team were greeted by a group of Kangaroos as well as groups of fans.

The team have just less than two weeks to prepare for their first game against Haiti on July 22 in Brisbane, but today held an open training session at the Sunshine Coast Stadium.

Their Dutch manager was seen giving a presentation to 3,000 spectators earlier today at their training session in Queensland, with a big electronic television screen behind her displaying a sign that said, 'Welcome'.

They were greeted with a special ceremony in front of fans which included a traditional smoking ceremony, lead by the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi people, which is an Aboriginal custom.

Wiegman was also pictured speaking with British High Commissioner to Australia, Vicki Treadell, and Mark Jamieson, Mayor of the Sunshine Coast Region where England will be spending the opening parts of their stay in Australia.

The team were then put through their paces, with Lucy Bronze, Millie Bright, Lauren James and Alessia Russo all pictured in action during the training session.

It comes as the team landed in Australia last week with performance related bonuses with the FA still not being agreed, with Bronze admitting her 'frustrations' over the issue.

Following their opening game against Haiti, the European champions will then head down to Sydney where they'll take on Denmark at the Allianz Stadium on July 28.

They'll wrap up their group matches against China in Adelaide on August 1.

While the men's side managed to make it to the quarter-final's of the Qatar World Cup in 2022, the Lionesses could do one better as they are one of the favourites to go all the way in this competition.

But there are plenty of impressive other sides in the tournament, with the USA and Spain perhaps also being two of the favourites to win.

The Women's World Cup is set to commence on July 20, as New Zealand will kick off the tournament against Norway, while Australia's first game against the Republic of Ireland will follow.
