The Ballon' dor is not a compensatory trophy so the fact that it was cancelled in 2020 when Lewandowski was the clear favorite to win doesn't mean he should be given the one for 2021 as an atonement for his ill-luck just to pacify him when another person deserves it for the year under review.

Ballon d'or is joke or farce or useless when your biased pick doesn't win. But ballon d'or is decided through democratic voting where 180 journalists etc choose the winner based on statistics, trophies and contributions of the players. And Messi has all these criteria. The rest of the contenders have or or two but not all. For those who campaign for Lewi out of pity for 2020 is not fair. First, this is for 2021. Second, Lewi was ahead of Messi by only 6 goals+assists by the end of ballon d'or voting. So Messi fans don't let the noise make the 7th make any less of the achievement. We need to enjoy this moment because it will never be repeated unless it is surpassed by the GOAT himself next year (if God willing he wins WC) Let them cry... SO HAIL MESSI the GOA7

Robert Lewandovski scored the most goals and won 3 collective trophies, Jorginho won the most trophies and the biggest ones in Europe, UCL and EURO. Benzema played the most enjoyable football during the year, won Uefa Nations League, reached UCL semis and contributed in 50 goals. But somehow, Messi won the Ballon d'Or. Nowdays, a Copa America wins you the prize. A Copa America held four times in six years seems to be more important than UCL, EUROs. Playing against Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Venezuela seems to be more difficult than playing against Bayern, Real, City, PSG, Atletico, Chelsea or against Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, etc. The worst part was inventing a prize such as "Best striker of the year" as a consolation for Lewandovski, after scoring 111 goals and winning like 7-8 trophies in the last two years, including UCL, CWC, Uefa Super Cup, Bundesliga, etc. All that, just to give the Ballon d'Or to Mr. Bolivia. Things like this make you love the beautiful game less.

Ronaldo saving ManU countless times this season and still carrying the blame for their losses is a clear example of Ronaldo's life and career - being hated for absolutely no reason. If you watch ManU games the team is NOT built around Ronaldo like many believe. It was the case with Real Madrid and at some point applied byJuventus but certainly not with the current ManU squad. Ronaldo happens to find ways to be at the right spots and make great runs to score his goals. . The advantage of having Ronaldo on the pitch comes in two. Opponents will throw half of their defence efforts to mark Ronaldo and this will give other attackers higher chances to break through. Failure to double mark Ronaldo will certainly to lead to a goal. . Just think about it. If ManU signed a different player, say Mbappe, who arrived and immediately started banging goals, scoring last minute winners and dragging the team through to the UCL knockouts. Would he blamed like this??
