Manchester City's top-assist man Kevin De Bruyne wins All Football Premier League Player of the season so far for his league-leading 16 assists.
De Bruyne highlights our All Football EPL Team of the Season so far and was selected as a competitive candidate in our All Football EPL Player of the Season so far Vote, in which he casts the most votes beating Mane, Son, Aguero and Alexander-Arnold to the award.
De Bruyne has contributed 8 goals & 16 assists in his 26 EPL games played (25 started). Only Bayern's Thomas Muller can equal his assist number among Euro Top 5 leagues. He also has most key passes (80) in EPL, 2nd most successful crosses (64) and 2nd most successful through balls in EPL.
The City talisman is simply on a different level to other central midfielders within Europe, averaging almost three shots assisted per 90 which is notably better than second-best James Maddison with 2.4 shots assisted. Unlike other attacking midfielders, De Bruyne generates plenty of shots for others that are fairly easy to score. It could be easily felt from the games.
The Belgian manages to blend quality with quantity to such an extent that he's a complete outlier in comparison to others. He's essentially twice as creative as the typical central midfielder.
If the Premier League season does eventually resume, De Bruyne should almost certainly be in contention for a major award once the campaign is concluded despite Liverpool's dominance, as he's undeniably unique in contrast to his 'competitors'.
