'The Great Wall' of Atletico! Jan Oblak named All Football Player of the Week

Atletico Madrid's stopper Jan Oblak has been named All Football Player of the Week for his unforgettable performance against Liverpool.

Oblak highlights our All Football Team of the Week and was selected as a competitive candidate in our All Football Player of the Week Vote, in which he casts the most votes beating Ighalo, Ilicic, Sabitzer and his teammate Marcos Llorente to the award.

Jan Oblak blocked nearly everything that came his way in the match against Liverpool, inspiring “Oh” and “Oh” from the Anfield faithful. 

Despite 2 goals conceded, he made 11 saves in that game and won the man of the match award undoubtfully. And those goals weren't his fault, either. Without Oblak, Atletico is almost impossible to stretch the game to extra time.

"I have no doubt that Oblak the best goalkeeper in the world. Just like Messi resolves games offensively, Oblak does it defensively." Said Atletico manager Diego Simeone.

Atletico have the 2nd best goal against number in La Liga (21 goals conceded). That is all because of Oblak's effort. The Slovenian has contributed 16 clean sheets this season. If Atleti want to go further in UCL and reach top 4 at the end of the season (if the season could go on), then they must keep relying on Oblak, as what they used to do.
