The omniscient Lionel Messi named All Football Player of the Week

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has been named All Football Player of the Week.

Messi highlights our All Football Team of the Week and was selected as a competitive candidate in our All Football Player of the Week Vote, in which he casts the most votes beating Salah, Haaland, Immobile and Calhanoglu to the award.

The Barcelona captain started last week with a perfect match as he produced two goals and one assist in the Copa del Rey match against Leganes and he led his team reach the quarter-finals.

In the La Liga match on the weekend, he could not stop he magic with two brilliant assists to the youngster Fati who scored twice in just two minutes to help the Catalans conquer Levante and keep the pressure on leaders Real Madrid.

Especially for the first pass to Fati, Messi showed his God's-eye view. He picked out a superb cross-field ball which ghosted past all the defenders of Levante and guides Fati to find his goal.

Lionel Messi has hit yet another milestone at Barcelona after Copa victory, having now featured in 500 wins for the club and becoming the first player to reach the landmark.

And after the two assists in the win over Levante, Barca ace now has the most goal assists (8) in La Liga this season as well as being top-scorer (14).
