SIX-TIME Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi named All Football Player of the Week

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi has been named All Football Player of the Week.

Messi highlights our All Football Team of the Week and was selected as a competitive candidate in our All Football Player of the Week Vote, in which he casts the most votes beating Van Dijk, Lautaro, Iheanacho and Alli to the award.

Last week, the Barca ace secured Valverde's side two tough wins over 2 strong rivals, Dortmund and Atletico. And in these two matches, he was involved in all 4 goals, including a last-gasp winner against Atleti. Meanwhile, Barcelona have entered the knockout stage of UCL and topped the La Liga.

There is no story without coincidences. The Argentina legend has just won the sixth Ballon d'Or of his career, and he has become the player with the most Ballon d'Or awards in football history.
