Barca set to wear a special edition version of 98-99 kit for Saturday's Clasico

Popular source Footyheadlines reveal the alleged shirt Barcelona are going to wear already this Saturday to face Real Madrid in the La Liga Clasico. This design is attributed to Nike who release a special retro edition of the traditional Blaugrana kit.

The special-edition Nike FC Barcelona 2019 jersey features Barca's classic colors, combined with a retro design and a more vibrant yellow Swoosh that's centered on the chest, just like on the 1998 kit. There's just one red and two blue stripes on the front of the FC Barcelona 2019 special-edition kit.

The style of Nike special edition Blaugrana shirt brings back memories of the 1998/1999 season when FC Barcelona and the sportswear company only started working together.

Back in the 1998/1999 season, Barcelona celebrated their century of existence. The Catalans were led by Patrick Kluivert, Rivaldo, Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique. 

Rivaldo would become the club's top scorer in the 1998/1999 season with 29 goals in all competitions. It wasn't the best campaign for the Catalans as they only secured the La Liga title, nevertheless, it was quite remarkable.

As for Saturday's Clasico, Barcelona are looking forward to this game to extend the gap over their eternal rivals. There are currently nine points between first-placed Barca and third-placed Real Madrid. Earlier this week, Barca have already demolished Los Blancos at their home ground - this Wednesday they celebrated a spectacular 3-0 win in the Copa del Rey semifinals.

In total, Barcelona have now won 10 Bernabeu Clasicos in the last ten years. Real Madrid's stadium has already been labelled as Barca's training ground. On Saturday, the Catalans could knock out their all-time rivals from the second tournament in just one week.
