Article 1: Barca 6-1 Sevilla (6-3 on agg): Another miracle! Barca come back to Copa semis
@Ismitty: I'm sure Barcelona players had a Flashback of the PSG game last two years
S: lost from 2-0; Psg: lost from 4-0 bro
@sam_04: Sevilla now will join Levante to complain about chumi?
@Jibadopstu: So they should declare" COME BACK TEAM" == "Barcelona"
Article 2: Atalanta 3-0 Juventus: Reigning champions ELIMINATED from Coppa Italia QFs
@hozabdopsu: 'A Day of Humiliations':
Fiorentina 7 - Roma 1; Bournemouth 4 - Chelsea 0; Atalanta 3 - Juventus 0
@Siycdmrsuy: With this kind of play, Juventus is not going to win UCL ever. Juve needs a good midfielder and backs like Marcelo. As of today's match, too many mistakes from defenders and no sign of attacking threats. Everybody going to criticize cr7 and it is right to do so. It looks like Mandzukic is needed as cr7 always get crowded by the opponent. Cr7 when playing on the flange, he plays better as compared to playing at center striker. Douglas Costa, Dybala, Barnendeski, Alex Sandro etc all are ineffective. They even don't know how to produce a good cross. All their crosses were either over kicked or just pass to the opponent.
Article 3: Sarri kicks out coaches & locks dressing room for hour-long player inquest
@munckmuy: The attitude of modern football players towards football managers is not fair. Player power is showcasing indiscipline in the game of football and this is not gonna be good for us in the future. I want somebody to explain to me why a football manager must beg a player who is receiving weekly wages of over 100,000 pounds to play well. I support managers like Jose for their refusal to beg these unfaithful players. Motivation? Is the support of the fans and the respect and love for the club, not enough? must they not be professional enough to obey managers appointed by the club?
@fizzbizziethe: the problem was never the strikers. it's the ones that play behind them. they need to be less selfish so the strikers can enjoy them.. Hughson won't solve that problem.. Pedro and Willian are major culprits of this.. would have given odoi more time if I were their manager he is so much more selfless than these other ones..
@Cecbklrtz: as long as Joginho is still playing on that mid we won't go anywhere. as long as we have midfielders who keep on passing the ball instead of shooting we would then go anywhere. as long as we keep on playing 4 3 3 we won't go anywhere. alongside and Luiz should be benched
Article 4: Fiorentina 7-1 Roma: Chiesa hat-trick eliminates toothless Roma in Coppa
@ditclosyz: Why did Roma lose? Because they started their b-team. Why are Roma fans mad? Well because they sold Salah, Pjanic, Alisson, Nainggolan, Strootman, Emerson, Paredes, Rudiger, Marquinhos, Lamela, Bertolacci, Romagnoli, Benatia!
Article 5: Bournemouth 4-0 Chelsea: Higuain humiliated on PL debut as Arsenal go 4th
@Ismitty: Morata must be Rolling on the Floor now???
@Nesaiknruy_Legend:5 things that got to happen for our club to get back on top.
• Sarri needs to embrace the idea of non-possession football for certain opponents. Teams like Bournemouth who put like 9 men behind the ball can't be broken down by possession unless you're Barca who has done it for years on years. Possession football loses disgustingly to counter-attack. Seen it at Spurs, Wolves, Leicester, Arsenal and now Bournemouth. We need 2 different approaches to the games. We got hit by the same approach to our approach every time and we've fallen to it nearly every time. But don't jump on the blame Sarri bandwagon. It's not his fault the players are of a poor caliber. We've seen these kinds of performances for the last 2-3 years even in title-winning seasons. Give Sarri time, don't jump on the bandwagon. We are a lot better now than we were last year. It's just the competition is a lot closer...
• The players we have right now aren't good enough for Possession football. Did you see how awful our passing is as a team? Luiz gave away 2 goals. Someone gave away 1 (cant remember who but all came from right side surprisingly). 3 out of 4 goals were completely avoidable but we allowed a team with some of the fastest players in the league to counter us with sloppy passes. If the club seriously wants to pursue this style of football, they need to give Sarri his players. And I mean like 4 or 5 transfers who are all first targets. Enough of going after 2nd targets, that's what's cost us.
• Sell and invest. We need to sell players. The overall quality of the team is probably the 2nd worst from the top 6 after Arsenal who has multiple areas that need improving though we aren't far off. I know you'll all get mad at this but we need to sell Hazard. His heart is not here. He doesn't even look like he's giving his best anymore. Selling Hazard plus some deadwood players and older players such as Willian, Pedro, Cahill, Drinkwater, Zappacosta etc. would help us invest in getting some top caliber players. Those players alone can get us around 300 if we go right about our business. 300 million to invest is plenty. We can get some top players for that amount and play top caliber football in the process. We need both agile and intelligent players. We got some intelligent players but only Kante is both intelligent and agile in the team truthfully. Odoi would count too if he played enough. We really do need a lot of new recruits.
• We need to trust in certain players and not blame certain one's cos of a bandwagon. Odoi would have been good in this game. He can unlock defenses and put in the right type of pass a game demands. Willian won't do that. We could have had Malcolm right now if not for our dumb board. The substitutions and the timing for the substitutions made no sense today which is on Sarri. Emerson may not have been great but you have to remember, this is his first premier league outing pretty much this season. You cant tell someone who hasn't walked yet to run. He will pick up the pace in 2 or 3 games as long as the manager has faith in him. Alonso would have cost us 3 goals on his own and it would have been 7-0. My opinion Emerson did an ok job but the team was collectively bad. Same goes for Higuain, on the contrary for me Higuain was the best Chelsea player on the pitch. While he was there, he tried to make the runs despite no service and being heavily marked by 3 players every time. He also dropped deep to link the play and made some great passes. His overall game was the best from any Chelsea player on that pitch. Higuain also needs some time to adapt fully to how premier league football is played. He is the last person you should be trolling or blaming. The players that cost us are the older signings. Not the new ones. For me, Emerson and Higuain get a pass even if they played bad or good or whatever. Both pretty much played a debut game for the premier league smh.
• The mentality needs to be corrected. This team almost start to panic at 1 goal down and by the 2nd goal concede defeat. I don't understand what is wrong with our team. Also, we have to get rid of player power. These guys are gonna get yet another good coach sacked by pinning their shortcomings on him. The team and the board have the mentality of 3rd rate people. They're both complacent as long as they get paid and profit instead of caring about how the fans feel and playing for the badge. We got a guy that loves the club and have star quality sitting on the bench while we allow guys that don't love the club and are complacent cos they know they won't get replaced play the game. It's ridiculous. The mentality in the club is poor and the cause for our hit and miss matches. Only Chelsea can go and beat a team like say United then get slapped by Fulham. I'm 100% convinced the inconsistencies stem from players with lazy and complacent attitudes. We got Alonso out, now it's time to get Willian and his complacent laid back attitude out the starting 11 for Odoi. Minor changes can literally improve the club. Also, Christensen is another knee that loves the club but we never play him in BPL. RLC, Christensen, Ampadu, and Odoi grew up through our system, know our football and are extremely talented, love our club and want to play for the badge but are still not trusted. I'm just so lost by this. Ake who we didn't trust from our youth was like the best defender on the pitch today. Just shows what a little faith can do. That's my only criticism of Sarri, he needs to show more faith in our academy players cos realistically they're the most ambitious. Though I can't blame him either cos in his head he feels the need to play senior players as he may get fired if he takes risks....
Anyway, that's it for my ranting. Said what I have to say.
The question I asked you yesterday was: Which is more important, a great car or a great house? Why?
@zeoabilmyz: What then shall we say? When the house is ready, then you buy a car. A car can only be parked inside a house, and not house inside a car, right?
@senatorferanmi: A good house. your house is home where you don't have to tell someone to move away from the road before you to enjoy yourself. you will always develop a mechanical problem. you could lose your life in a car accident.
@estera: Hmm.... which is more important?? Personally, I don't want luxury, I don't want nor big house nor big car, I don't think luxury is the essence of life but love is. I hope I will have enough in life to be happy, if I will be blessed with one small house, one small car and a lot of love I would be the happiest girl, what else I could wish for? I would already have all.
And here's a special question for AFers today: If you get married, which place is the idea one for your honeymoon?
Have a nice day!
