US Soccer have revealed the rosters for the US U-19 and U-17 national teams, for the 2019 edition of the joint January youth camp alongside the U-20 national team, whose roster was also unveiled on Friday.
Four MLS pros are among the U-19 selections, while an additional three are represented on the U-17 roster. All told, players currently active in 12 different MLS academies or first teams were included among the two squads.
Philadelphia Union signing Brenden Aaronson, FC Dallas midfielder Thomas Roberts, NYCFC youngster James Sands and New York Red Bulls attacker Ben Mines are on the U-19 squad. The latter two received playing time in MLS in 2018, with Mines scoring a goal in his only appearance.
Among the U-17 call-ups were Sands' NYCFC teammate Joe Scally, Sporting KC's Gianluca Busio (pictured above), who has already notched a goal and an assist in MLS, and San Jose Earthquakes youngster Gilbert Fuentes, who made his MLS debut at the end of last season.
The training camp, to run Jan. 4-13 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., will feature three scrimmages between the squads and a to-be-named fourth opponent. The U-17 national team will compete in the Concacaf U-17 Championship this spring, looking to qualify for the 2019 U-17 World Cup in Peru later this year.
