Hello, everyone! This is AF Channel. Here we offer you something to discuss, debate or games to play!
Retiring a player's jersey number is most often reserved for all-time greats. Although it is very common in sports such as basketball and baseball, it is new to the world of football. Why isn't there a tradition of retiring jersey numbers in football world?
We will invite some AFers who have made some awesome comments to speak their voices out in this column. The distinguished guests today are: @__kat02, @saoceosu, @Doseiruy, @RayyanKeshwani, @TanimaRoy, @lumaceiotz, @vaaaelmru.
Here are some selected comments from AFers for the last topic: Which great games have you missed this year?
WELL, THE GREAT GAMES I'VE MISSED IS LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER UNITED(LAST WEEKEND)
REASON:
(A) MY FAMILY WENT TO CHURCH
(B) WE HAD A YOUTH SERVICE IN CHURCH
(C) BY THE TIME I CAME BACK AND I WANTED TO WATCH IT, IT WAS 90 MINUTES
I missed France vs Argentina during the World Cup. I was a counsellor at a camp with children from varied/rough backgrounds. We had no internet/cell service and sketchy phone so I'd call my mom every day or 2 & she'd update me in the scores. You can imagine my shock to hear that Germany were kicked out by South Korea & that Argentina ACTUALLY made it out of the group stages! But one day I called her & she said that France had kicked out Argentina by one goal by Pavard, the goal that ended up being voted the best of the tournament. As a fan,I felt that if I'd watched it then maybe they would've won.I wanted so baldly for Messi to capture the WC. But THAT'S the one game I really wished I'd seen.
