Rangers are closing in on the signing of Graham Dorrans after agreeing a £1.5million fee with Norwich City on Sunday night.
The clubs had been in protracted negotiations, with Glaswegian Dorrans understood to have his sights on a move to Ibrox despite rival interest from Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland.
The 30-year-old Scotland international, who scored six goals for Norwich last season in 24 appearances, is now expected to be granted permission by his club to enter into contract negotiations with Pedro Caixinha's side.
The Portuguese boss has had a frenetic summer, recruiting eight new players. Caixinha has reshaped his squad dramatically by landing Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso, Danial Candeias, Dalcio, Alfredo Morelos, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera.
The 46-year-old has jettisoned Joe Garner to Ipswich Town and Andy Halliday to Azerbaijan side FC Gabala.
He also decided players like Harry Forrester, Rob Kiernan, Matt Crooks, Joe Dodoo and Michael O'Halloran are surplus to requirements after they were left out of the club's European squad.
