All Football October Coach of the Month: Valverde & Emery lead nominees

Hello Afers! Welcome to All Football Coach of the Month. We list the best coaches of Europe's top 5 leagues every month. 

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde, Arsenal coach Unai Emery, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre and Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri are the five nominees for our Coach of the Month for October based on their excellent works.

Here are their main stats:

1. Ernesto Valverde (Barcelona, La Liga)

Valverde led Barcelona to the top of La Liga table as well as Champions League group B.

The Calatans beat Sevilla and Real Madrid in La Liga, drawing with Valencia last month. In Champions League, Valverde's side defeated Pochettino's Tottenham and Inter. They also sealed a Copa del Rey win over Cultural.

2. Unai Emery (Arsenal, Premier League)

Emery recorded 11 consecutive wins (13 games unbeaten) by the end of October and led the Gunners into top 4 of Premier League standings.

The Gunners beat Fulham and Leicester in Premier League, drawing with Crystal Palace last month. In Europa League, Emery's side defeated Qarabag and Sporting CP. They also sealed a Carabao Cup win over Blackpool.

3. Massimiliano Allegri (Juventus, Serie A)

Allegri kept Juventus on top spot of Serie A and Champions League group H, remaining unbeaten in all the competitions to the start of season. 

The Bianconeri beat Udinese and Empoli in Serie A, drawing with Genoa last month. In Champions League, Allegri's side defeated Young Boys and Mourinho's Manchester United.

4. Lucien Favre (Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga)

Favre kept Dortmund on top of Bundesliga table and Champions League group A, remaining unbeaten in all the competitions to the start of season. 

The BVB beat Augsburg and Stuttgart in Bundesliga, drawing with Hertha BSC last month. In Champions League, Favre's side defeated Monaco and Simeone's Atletico Madrid. They also sealed a DFB Pokal win over Union Berlin. 

5. Maurizio Sarri (Chelsea, Premier League)

Sarri kept Chelsea unbeaten who remained in title race last month, topping Europa League group L.

The Blues beat Southampton and Burnley in Premier League, drawing with Manchester United. In Europa League, Sarri's side defeated Videoton and BATE. They also sealed a Carabao Cup win over Lampard's Derby County.
