Beaming Mourinho hugs bellboy after arriving back from training amid feud with Pogba

Jose Mourinho might not be showing Paul Pogba any affection at the moment but the same can't be said about the staff at The Lowry hotel in Manchester.

Mourinho's growing rift with Pogba took another turn this week when they two were caught on film at Manchester United's Carrington training complex arguing.

After taking Friday's training session, Mourinho return to where he has been living since he became United manager in the summer of 2016.

The cameras were present as part of a bi-monthly opportunity to film training afforded to Sky as part of their contract with the Premier League. 

It is rare for such a row to be caught on camera but the filming was something Mourinho was well aware was happening and could easily have postponed.

Wednesday's session had been pencilled in given it was expected to be a light warm-down following an easy win over Derby in Carabao Cup. 

However, following the humiliating home defeat, Mourinho opted not to cancel the presence of three broadcasters - Premier League Productions and MUTV were also there - and to confront Pogba in front of them at the start of the session.

Mourinho and his former vice-captain have been locked in an increasingly bitter power struggle all year, with Pogba angling for a move to Barcelona.

There appeared to have been a thawing in the relationship at the start of the season with Pogba stepping in as captain in the absence of regular skipper Antonio Valencia. 

But the Frenchman's comments in the wake of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Wolves, where he urged Mourinho to be more attacking, led to a dressing down in front of his team-mates in training on Monday when he was told he'd never captain United again.

Pogba was rested for the defeat by Derby on Wednesday night but irritated Mourinho again by posting a video on Instagram of him laughing with team-mate Andreas Pereira and Luke Shaw after defeat.

That was the subject of Wednesday's row, when Mourinho could he heard saying to press officer John Allen, 'John, when did Paul post on Instagram?', as the pair exchanged glares and heated words.

Allen was present as it was due to be a filmed session.

Sportsmail revealed on Wednesday that problems between Mourinho and Pogba began on the day he signed over two years ago, with the United boss unhappy with the way in which his then-world-record transfer was announced.

Mourinho felt that the social media-led announcement involving grime artist Stormzy put the player above the club.
