Hello again! We organize clubs of Europe's top 5 leagues into an order that reflects the up-to-the-minute hierarchy every Tuesday.
The rankings are a season-long measurement of clubs, tracking teams throughout 2018-19 and taking into account results from all competitions. Our rankings consider advanced stats, full-season play and recent performance with some gut feeling mixed in.
Sides that have lost the fewest games naturally rank higher—though the strength of opposition met in a loss is considered—and both UEFA Champions/Europa League form and presence are used as tiebreakers for those with similar records. Teams that gather big wins against strong opponents get a boost.
Let's take a look
Manchester United, who ranked 9th last week, have been dumped out due to their poor displays.
10. Dortmund
Dortmund took advantage of Bayern Munich's slip up to go top of Bundesliga table.
Lucien Favre's side came from 0-2 down to a sensational 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen with Paco Alcacer's late double.
9. Arsenal
Unai Emery led Arsenal into a 5th consecutive Premier League win, having top 4 spot in sight.
Arsenal cruised to a 3-1 victory against Brentford as Danny Welbeck fired Gunners into Carabao Cup fourth round with a brace.
On Saturday, Mezut Ozil & Co sealed a 2-0 victory over Watford to win all the six games in September.
8. PSG
Paris Saint-Germain sealed another 2 routine wins to make it 8 league wins out of 8.
Thomas Tuchel's side continued their dominance in Ligue 1. Neymar scored three goals last week to inspire a 4-1 victory over Reims and a 3-0 thrash over Nice.
7. Bayern Munich
It wasn't a good week for Niko Kovac as Bayern Munich only get one point from two Bundesliga games.
With Augsburg draw at Allianz Stadium in the midweek, Bayern failed to progress to a 8th consecutive win of the season. Arjen Robben scored another Robben-esque goal but was not enough.
On Friday, the Bavarians suffered their first defeat of the season as they were stunned by Hertha BSC in a 2-0 loss, which gave Dortmund chance to top Bundesliga.
6. Barcelona
Rotations have become the Achilles' heel of Barca as Ernesto Valverde's side get only 2 points in 3 games.
Gerard Pique's botched clearance gifted Leganes a 2-1 win on Wednesday, in the meantime Barca suffered their first defeat of the season.
Returning to Camp Nou, Blaugrana still found it difficult to return to winning ways despite that Lionel Messi came off the bench to set up a late equaliser in 1-1 draw with Athletic club.
5. Manchester City
Manchester City climbed up on the top of Premier League table and sealed easy win in Carabao Cup.
Starlet Phil Foden helped Citizens to get a comfortable 3-0 win over Oxford United and head into Carabao Cup fourth round.
On Saturday, Sergio Aguero found the net to inspire a fourth consecutive Premier League win, helping Pep Guardiola's side top the table thanks to Liverpool draw.
4. Real Madrid
No Ronaldo, no Bale, no goals.
Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal fellow Andre Silva gave Real Madrid a 3-0 humilation on Thursday as Los Blancos fail to seize chance to surpass Barcelona.
However, Lopetegui's side blew away another chance after a goalless Bernabeu draw with city rivals Atletico. Things became even worse as Gareth Bale was subbed off with a musclar injury.
3. Liverpool
Liverpool had a double-headers clash with Chelsea this week, the first dumped the Reds out of Carabao Cup, the second saw their perfect league start end.
Daniel Sturridge scored in both games, whose overhead kick in Carabao cup opened the scoring at Anfield but Eden Hazard's late winner stole the show. Three days later, Sturridge came off the bench to save Reds from another defeat with a stunner, after which Jurgen Klopp's side conceded their Premier League top spot to Manchester City.
But... where is Mohamed Salah?
2. Chelsea
Chelsea kept unbeaten in back-to-back games against Liverpool.
Eden Hazard was absolutely the shining star as the Belgium ace scored late winner to eliminate Liverpool in Carabao Cup and opened to scoring at Stamford Bridge in 1-1 draw with Reds in Premier League. He just loved playing against Liverpool last week.
1. Juventus
Juventus matched club record with 8 consecutive wins to the start of season, the last time was back in 1930/31.
Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed his play in Serie A one month after his debut as the five-time Ballon d'Or winner registered 3 goals and 4 assists in 7 games.
The Portugal star assisted Blaise Matuidi in Juventus' 2-0 win over Bologna and laid on another two assists in Serie A top-of-the-table clash against Napoli, during which Mario Mandzukic bagged brace to seal a sensational 3-1 comeback victory at Allianz Stadium.
