The Black Stars coach says he is happy with how his charges are responding to training ahead of the game against the Harambee Stars
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says he is pleased with his team’s preparation ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya on Saturday.
The Black Stars began fine tuning in Ethiopia with sixteen players on Tuesday, with the likes of Kwadwo Asamoah, Christian Atsu Ebenezer Ofori reporting on Wednesday.
Columbus Crew defender Harrison Afful remains the only missing player with two days to kickoff.
“We came to Ethiopia purposely to acclimatize since the altitude here is higher than Kenya and so far it has been good and I'm happy. Almost all the players are here and we are going through our programs perfectly,” Appiah told Fifa/Caf Confederation Cup Liaison Team communications director Dan Kwaku Yeboah in an interview.
“In actual fact, almost all the players that are here, I’ve known them already except William Owusu, who’s so far doing well so we’ll keep monitoring him.
"I've watched some videos of Kenya but in this current game, they invited a lot of foreign players. So normally, I don't depend totally on what I've seen because tactically they can change their style of play.
"We're planning very well so that irrespective of their game plan on Saturday, we can survive. It's not going to be an easy game because they've invited a lot of foreign players as I said earlier. They are playing in their home ground and their supporters will be behind them so it is not going be easy,” he added.
