Olarenwaju Kayode starts light training at Shakhtar Donetsk after layoff over injury

Nigerian forward, Olarenwaju Kayode, has started light training with at his Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk head of their clash against Vorskla this Sunday after an injury-induced layof, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Olanrewaju missed all Shakhtar Donetsk’s pre-season friendlies as a result of the injury and he is yet to play a game for club this season after three rounds of matches.

“It is also expected that Sergei Krivtsov will start working in the general group in the coming days but Olanrewaju Kayode and Ivan Ordets worked individually,” a statement on Shakhtar Donetsk’s official website on Tuesday revealed.

Kayode signed a five-year contract with Shakhtar Donetsk in May following a successful loan spell with the club.

The 25 year old former Austria Wien striker scored twice in six league games for the Miners last season.

He won the Ukrainian league and Cup titles with the club.

Paulo Fonseca’s men currently sit third in the Ukrainian League table with six points from three games.
