The 32-year-old Bursaspor and former Senegal forward announced his retirement from international football last week
Moussa Sow has spoken about his international football retirement, saying he does not regret quitting the Teranga Lions.
The former Lille striker was part of the Senegal team at the Fifa World Cup in Russia but could not add on to his 44 national team caps.
Sow said his decision to quit international soccer was not made in haste, as he had already briefed some of his teammates about it before the tournament.
“In my head, it was clear. Besides, there were some players who already knew about it,” Sow was quoted as saying by WiwSport.
“They knew I was going to stop right after the World Cup. Today it is confirmed and it's good for me and for the national team. I have done my time and I do not regret. As I have always said, I remain at the disposal of the national team and young people, I know that I will always be able to bring something off the field.”
Sow’s decision comes after he debuted for Senegal in 2009, and was now one of the senior players in the team.
The former France youth international last played a match for Senegal in early June. This was in a World Cup warm-up game against Croatia.
