Sanchez hangs out with Roberts and Oldman after win over Milan

Alexis Sanchez found himself in esteemed company after the penalty shootout win over AC Milan as he met Hollywood stars and Manchester United fans Julia Roberts and Gary Oldman.

The Chile ace got his first goal of pre-season in Los Angeles against Gennaro Gattuso's Milan side before the game had to be settled by a penalty shootout - which United won 9-8.

But for Sanchez, the big talking point was his meeting with the 'cinema legends' after the game inside the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

Wearing a black cap and a club tracksuit, Sanchez was more than happy to pose for photos with the A-listers.

Roberts, clutching her belongings for the evening, lent her head on the attacker's shoulder while Oldman donned the 2018-19 navy third kit.

They were, however, not the only famous faces in the crowd following United.

Lord of the Rings' stars Billy Boyd, who played Peregrin Tuck, and Dominic Monagahan, who played Meriadoc Brandybuck, stopped buy in the 2018-19 home shirt.

For both Roberts and Oldman, this is not the first time they have mixed with their footballing idols.

On the club's pre-season tour last year, Roberts, The actress, star of Pretty Woman, Notting Hill and Erin Brockovich, was all smiles with Spanish midfielder Juan Mata.

Roberts also showed her colours when she flew to England to attend a match and walk on the hallowed turf at Old Trafford two years ago.

While Roberts rarely shows her colours by way of team jerseys, Oldman has no qualms in produly showing off that he is a United fan.

Oldman, who has featured in the Harry Potter and Batman film series, is a self-confessed United supporter and proudly wore a signed shirt after he won his first Oscar for his performance as Winston Churchill in the hit film Darkest Hour.

He met boss Jose Mourinho and a number of the stars at the club's training base at UCLA last week.

The actor was presented with an 'Oldman 1' shirt by the Portuguese manager as a gesture of goodwill between the club and the Hollywood A-lister.

United have two further matches as part of their US tour as they face Liverpool in Ann Arbor on July 28 and Real Madrid at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on July 31.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Oldman and Roberts had reason to cheer as United squeezed past Milan.

Sanchez, almost missing the tour due to troubles with his visa, opened the scoring on 12 minutes but the lead lasted just three minutes.

Suso equalised after a smart through ball from United target Leonardo Bonnuci found the wily attacker and he levelled.
