Buffon believed to be earning close to €5m per season with PSG

Gianluigi Buffon is believed to be earning close to €5m per season with Paris Saint-Germain, an increase on his Juventus salary.

The 40-year-old left the Bianconeri when his contract expired on June 30, and has opted to continue his career in Ligue 1.

The former Italy captain hasn’t gone to be a reserve though, and L’Équipe reports that his salary reflects his place in the team.

The newspaper believes that Buffon is earning €410,000 net a month, for a yearly salary of €4.92m.

That’s a figure which doesn’t include potential bonuses, so his take home pay could actually be much higher.

The salary represents an increase on the €4.5m per season he was earning with his final Juventus contract.
