Shaqiri unwinds in New York as Aguero takes family to Harry Potter World

A World Cup year means short summer breaks for international footballers so it is no surprise to see some of them making the most of their time off before rejoining their respective clubs ahead of the new season.

Xherdan Shaqiri can claim to have been busier than most after guiding Switzerland to the round of 16 in Russia before quickly jetting back to England to complete his move from Stoke City to Liverpool.

With his future sealed, the diminutive winger was free to jet off and is currently enjoying a short break in New York City before linking up with Jurgen Klopp's men. And he is not the only one to choose hustle and bustle over a private beach.

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero treated his entire family to a trip to Universal Studios, Hollywood. The nine-strong Aguero clan crammed into a picture in front of Hogwarts in the ever-so-popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Normal service resumes thereafter with Monaco and Colombia star Radamel Falcao enjoying the peace and serenity of the Turks and Caicos Islands with his partner Lorelei Taron.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea striker will have another week or so before returning to the Principality, itself a summer holiday destination of Europe's jet-set class.

Crowds were not a concern for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, who appeared to be on his own with wife Leonita in Sychelles. The Swiss enjoyed white sands on empty beaches and a private pool as he relaxed ahead of his return to north London.

Simeone opted for something similar as he took his family on their own yacht. His partner Carla Pereira posted a photo of the two of them enjoying themselves in front of the Mediterranean.
