Hazard is now as highly rated as CR7 in FIFA 18's WC mode... can he replace him at Madrid?

Eden Hazard's phenomenal World Cup got ever better as his goal buried England in the third-place play-off to give Belgium their best ever finish at the tournament.

EA Sports seem to think he was the best player at the World Cup with his 99-rated Festival of FUTBall card and now they have rightfully handed him another upgrade in their World Cup mode.

Now as a 96-overall, Hazard matches Cristiano Ronaldo as the highest rated non-Icon card on the mode - in fact only Pele and Maradona are rated higher. Is the Belgian destined to succeed Ronaldo at Real Madrid?

With CR7 moving to Juventus, Real Madrid have a massive void to fill and will undoubtedly splash the cash this Summer. Hazard has been a long-term target for Los Blancos and appears to be the perfect option.

With yet another upgrade on the World Cup mode, Hazard's stats are ridiculous. He now has 97 pace, 99 dribbling, 96 shooting, 96 passing and 85 physicality - beating Ronaldo in every single area.

Belgium teammate Kevin De Bruyne also received a significant upgrade, taking him up to 94 overall. The central midfielder looks like a superb card with 85 pace, 95 dribbling, 97 passing and 88 physicality.

And on top of that, Belgium's first goalscorer Thomas Meunier has been bumped up from 81 to 86 in the World Cup mode. The card is wonderfully balanced with 84 pace, 85 dribbling, 88 shooting, 87 defending, 85 passing and 90 physicality.

Meanwhile, it was an unfortunate end to an otherwise thrilling tournament for England who surprised many by finishing in the top four of the tournament. It was a fairly weak display in the playoffs but it wasn't all doom and gloom as John Stones impressed again.

The Manchester City defender finally looks like he's ready to meet his full potential. EA have boosted him to an 85 rating with 77 pace, 82 dribbling, 89 defending, 85 passing and 85 physicality.
