Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo soaks up the rays in Mexico

Marcos Rojo has been holidaying with his wife Eugenia Lusardo following Argentina's World Cup heartbreak.

Manchester United centre-back, Rojo, was a national hero after his late winner against Nigeria ensured Argentina qualified for the round of 16 despite a dreadful start to the tournament.

But his jubilation was soon dashed when the Argentine's fell to defeat in the first knockout round against France.

However, the 28-year-old does have his lingerie model wife to console him as the pair posted a snap of their holiday in Mexico on Instagram.

Lusardo, also 28, poses with her husband as the couple get cosy in their swimwear on a boat during their trip.

They will also joined on their holiday by both of their daughters, Morena and Martina.

Rojo will soon have to return for preseason action with Manchester United as he looks to put the World Cup heartache behind him.

He will join up with the rest of his team in a couple of weeks, having earned some extra-time off for his World Cup participation.

United's preseason friendlies get under way in America on July 19 with a match against Club America.

There will be harder tests toward the end of July and start of August as Jose Mourinho's men face Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich before the new Premier League season gets underway.
