The Manchester City goalkeeper, who is on loan at Torino, has been impressed by what he has seen from the 17-year-old since moving to Serie A

Joe Hart believes Gianluigi Donnarumma has the potential to become one of the world's best goalkeepers after watching the AC Milan teenager star in Serie A.

Hart is on loan at Torino from Manchester City for the 2016-17 season and though he did not sign in time for their clash with Milan in August, he has had the chance to see Donnarumma in action since moving to Italy.

The 17-year-old, who is already the Rossoneri's first-choice goalkeeper and has two caps for Italy, has been tipped to take over from Gianluigi Buffon with the national team when the Juventus legend retires.

"I'm really impressed, I don't know about surprised, but I'm very, very impressed with him," Hart told Goal.

"He just seems to perform every single week. [Just] 17 years old, [and he's] been doing it since he was 16... that’s young for a goalkeeper to play at this level.

"He's not just interesting to watch because he's young, he's interesting to watch because he's actually very good and that's a big compliment to him and if he continues he's going to be... he's already a special talent, the sky's the limit for him."

Hart made his City debut at age 19 and says he can empathise with the pressure Donnarumma is under, but believes he has the benefit of a protective environment in Milan.

"I was very young when I became a regular at City," he added. "It’s a little bit difficult for a keeper, but you’re very protected when you’re young. It’s five years after your career starts when you have the most important time.

"It’s not easy to be consistently very good. You can have a good game and one small mistake and the whole world changes. [But] he’s at a special club which loves him, he’s got the backing of the whole nation and he can learn from Buffon as well."
