Panama may well have been thrashed by England 6-1 at the 2018 World Cup in Russia - but Felipe Baloy's strike triggered wild celebrations back home.
The veteran defender, 37, stabbed home a consolation in Nizhny Novgorod to make history to score Panama's first ever World Cup goal.
Hernan Gomez's side will be going home after the group stages following their loss to England and opening game 3-0 defeat to Belgium.
But Baloy's strike alone appears to have been received as if the minnows have won the World Cup and he admitted his pride after the game.
"It's a goal that will remain in the history of Panamanian football," Baloy said.
"It's a result to reflect on, we have to work hard. Our opponents were superior, they won 6-1, we have to work now towards the game vs Tunisia.
"The team must get even stronger, we need to show that this is a united group."
A video of the immediate scenes afterwards in Panama City show fans waving their flags and jumping uncontrollably in jubilation.
The final game of the group stage for Panama is a dead rubber vs Tunisia and a golden opportunity for another history first: Panama's first point at a World Cup.
The game will take place at the Mordovia Arena on Thursday, June 28, kick-off is set for 19:00.
