James Rodriguez should return for Los Cafeteros but with both sides' future in the World Cup hanging in the balance, we are backing a tight first half

Colombia were the pre-tournament favourites to top Group H, but an unexpected defeat to Japan in their opening game has left Los Cafeteros in a precarious position.

Their opponents on Sunday night are in a similarly difficult situation with Poland having also lost their opening match to Senegal.

Both sides know therefore that defeat in Kazan would eliminate them, meaning a tense game looks likely as they look to prolong their repsective World Cup stays.

Coral offer Colombia at 6/5 (2.20) to pick up three points, while Poland are available at 23/10 (3.30) and the draw is priced at 11/5 (3.20).

It is worth remembering that Colombia played almost the entire game against Japan win a man less, which without doubt impacted the result.

The man sent off for a deliberate handball against the Japanese was Carlos Sanchez and the midfielder will be suspended for the clash with Poland.

James Rodriguez started the opening game on the bench but should be fit enough to return to the starting eleven.

For Poland, defender Kamil Glik has returned to training but remains a doubt with a shoulder injury.

These two sides were expected to be the two battling for top spot in the group, yet those opening defeats have turned the group on its head.

Neither can afford another slip-up and that will surely condition how they approach this game.

There have already been plenty of tight and evenly matches games in this tournament and there is every chance that Sunday night's encounter could be another extremely close game.

While there will be plenty of excellent attacking players on display, the temptation has to be backing a low-scoring game and under 2.5 goals is priced at 4/6 (1.66).

More appealing however is backing under 0.5 goals in the first half at 29/20 (2.45) which looks like a solid option.

At the time of writing, 12 of the 26 matches in the tournament have been goalless at half time and with so much on the line for both teams on Sunday, investing in a cagey opening 45 minutes could prove profitable.
