Klopp enjoys a cigarette as he relaxes on the beach in Ibiza

Jurgen Klopp is enjoying a welcome break from pre-season preparations, by enjoying a trip to Ibiza with friends and family.

The German will soon oversee another busy campaign with Liverpool, before which he will be tasked with adding more quality to his existing squad.

But for now Klopp is basking in the sun in the Mediterranean, where he has been enjoying a cigarette and relaxing on the beach with his wife Ulla Sandrock.

The Reds boss has been hard at work trying to shape his team for next season, with Fabinho already signed from Monaco following their Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid.

Liverpool were also on the verge of landing Nabil Fekir from Lyon, only to see the deal fall through at the 11th hour.

And with all focus now on the World Cup for players, Klopp took the opportunity to seek a little respite ahead of another gruelling season.

The 51-year-old was joined by his wife and some friends on the beach, where they enjoyed the warm weather and took in the sunset.

Klopp also took time out of his trip to pose with two young fans on the beach on the Mediterranean island. The trip represents the German's last vestige of relaxation ahead of a hectic pre-season schedule for his side.

Liverpool will play their first pre-season friendly at Anfield in four years with a fixture against Torino on August 7.

The addition of the game takes the number of pre-season fixtures this summer to nine.

Klopp's side will commence their preparations for the new season before the World Cup has even finished with an away game against Chester on July 7.
