1 minute 47 seconds lost to VAR decision during Iran-Spain

The offside flag had been raised as Saeid Ezatolahi netted an equaliser for Iran against Spain on Wednesday night and yet the subsequent VAR review took almost two minutes to complete.

While Iran's players rushed to celebrate, La Roja surrounded the referee and demanded a replay be analysed by the officials back in Moscow.

The matter was referred, like all goals are, and it took 1 minute 47 seconds to reach the conclusion that Ezatolahi was indeed offside, just as the assistant had indicated at the time.
