Hello again, the FIFA World Cup is finally here! After every round of the tournament, we will bring you an updated power rankings, telling you who is in form, who is out of form and who is ready to win the greatest sporting event on Earth.

This first round edition is based on each side's FIFA world rankings, first round form and overall squad strength. Let's get into it.

10. Uruguay

Jose Gimenez, who formed solid defence alongside Atletico Madrid teammate Diego Dodin, scored last-minute header to give Uruguay crucial win as they beat Salah-less Egypt 1-0.

9. Croatia

World class Mario Mandzukic and Luka Modric destroyed Super Eagles of Nigeria with 2-0 win to make sure Croatia take the lead over World Cup Group D rivals.

8. Argentina

Argentina, who had always been considered one of the favourites, were unexpectedly held 1-1 by World Cup debutant Iceland. The Albiceleste talisman Lionel Messi missed a second-half penalty which could value 3 points.

7. Portugal

Ronaldo-inspired European Championship 2016 winners kicked off their World Cup campaign with tournament favourite Spain. The Real Madrid superstar scored a sensational hat-trick with tenacity to save his side with a 3-3 draw.

6. England

Wasteful Three Lions managed to secure a late 2-1 victory against Tunisia thanks to a double from captain Harry Kane.

5. Germany

The World Cup reigning champions lose their Group F opener against Mexico, with Hirving Lozano golazo being the difference. Joachim Low's side will now spare no effort to find the scoring shoe with Sweden and South Korea showdown to come.

4. France

A late Paul Pogba goal and a VAR-assisted penalty from Antoine Griezmann helped France to a scarcely deserved 2-1 win over Australia.

3. Belgium

The European Red Devils cruise to a 3-0 victory against Panama, with Romelu Lukaku netting a 6-minute double in the second half. Roberto Martinez's side now rank joint-top with England in Group G.

2. Brazil

Brazil suffered an unexpected draw despite Philippe Coutinho's stunner as Switzerland held Tite's side 1-1. With the fresh injury concern of Neymar, will Selecao get into another trouble or bounce back with a win?

1. Spain

Julen Lopetegui out, Fernando Hierro in, the managerial earthquake didn't erode the will.

Leaving out of the uncharacteristic error from David De Gea, La Roja were definitely one of the best-performing side in the first round, featuring Diego Costa who pulled Spain level twice and the magical midfield trio.

Here is the top 10
