Punters have been backing La Roja's captain to be shown at least two cards in Russia after his clash with Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final

One of dabblebet's most popular World Cup betting specials has been Sergio Ramos to be shown two or more cards during the tournament at Evens (2.0).

The Real Madrid defender has been in the headlines regularly following the Champions League final where his clash with Mohamed Salah saw the Liverpool man leave the field with a shoulder injury.

Despite not being shown a card for that particular challenge, Ramos is never far from the referee's notebook. The 32-year-old has been shown more cards (yellow and red included) than any player in the history of the Champions League and La Liga.

That streak doesn't end when he pulls on a national team shirt though, 21 bookings for La Roja means Ramos also holds the title for most cautions there too.

With that in mind it's no surprise to see this dabblebet special of the defender to get over 1.5 cards during the course of the World Cup being snapped up at Evens (2.0).

Spain are expected to qualify from Group B and opening their account with an all-Iberian clash against Portugal on Friday evening. That game is usually a fiery affair and Ramos was booked the last time the two met at Euro 2012.

Despite their late change of manager, La Roja are still one of the favourites for World Cup glory at around 13/2 (7.50) with dabblebet and if they were to make it to the semi-finals, that would mean a minimum of seven matches played in Russia this summer.

Given that Ramos is assured of a start as captain in almost all of those - unless he's injured or already suspended of course - there should be plenty of opportunity to pick up bookings or even a red card although he is yet to be dismissed for the national side.

Time is running out to place a bet on the Evens (2.0) special though, it will expire at kick-off of Portugal v Spain which gets underway at 19:00 BST.
