England captain Harry Kane bizarrely listed as one of World Cup's heaviest players at 98kg

Harry Kane has bizarrely been listed by FIFA as one of the heaviest players at the World Cup - tipping the scales at a somewhat bulky 98kg.

The official squad lists for all 32 nations heading to Russia were revealed on Monday, with the heights and weights of all 736 participating players given.

But eyebrows were raised when England captain Kane, who is incredibly health conscious, was listed as one of the heaviest players at the tournament.

He was among a group of four players - England team-mate Harry Maguire, Denmark defender Jannik Vestergaard and Saudi Arabia midfielder Abdullah Al-Khaibari - on 98kg (15.43 stone).

The weight - presumably a typo - came as a surprise to some social media users given that Kane goes to great lengths to take care of himself.

The prolific Tottenham striker employs a private chef to regulate his food intake and keep himself primed for action in the best physical condition.

The only player listed as being heavier on the official FIFA list was Panama defender Roman Torres at 99kg (15.58 stone).

By contrast, the lightest players listed were Takashi Inui of Japan, Javier Aquino of Mexico and Mbark Boussoufa of Morocco, who weight in at just 59kg (9.29 stone).

England's Jesse Lingard isn't too far behind - according to the FIFA list, he is a mere 60kg (9.44 stone).

In terms of height, the tallest player in the competition is Croatia's Lovre Kalinic, who measures 2.01 metres (6ft 6in). The only other two-metre player is Vestergaard, dead on two metres.

Argentina defender Federico Fazio and Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois are both listed as 1.99 metres.

The smallest players at the World Cup are Peru's Alberto Quinter, Yahia Al-Shehri of Saudi Arabia and Xherdan Shaqiri of Switzerland at 1.65 metres (5ft 4in).

The tallest squad at the tournament will be Serbia with an average heigh of 186.69cm, putting them just ahead of Denmark on 186.6cm.

The Danes are the heaviest, according to FIFA, with an average weight of 82.6kg.
