Spain's teams have won 7 Champions League titles in the recent 10 years. Do you think Spain's Champions League domination is good or bad for the competition? What's your opinion?

Experts of last DAILY TOPIC: Can we now say La Liga is the strongest league in Europe?

@Clet:

I do think Laliga is a really tough league, but I don't think it is the strongest league in Europe. Without sentiment, we know that Spanish teams (Real, Barca and Atletico) are really strong in European competitions, but still, that doesn't make Laliga the strongest league there is. There are more teams fighting for the Premier league title than there is in any other league in Europe, the top 4 spot of the Premier league is almost like winning a trophy, which is almost unlikely in any other league. Besides, it is only in EPL that newly promoted teams can beat defending champions or any other big name for that matter.

I think epl is the best and strongest league in Europe.

@Victadrid:

First, as a point of correction, this won't be the first time two teams from one country compete against each other for the European Super Cup. It will, however, be the first time two teams from one city, Madrid (a La Liga city), go up against each other.

Without a doubt, the Spanish league has clearly been the most dominant in Europe but whether it's the strongest league in Europe depends on the scope of that question. If by 'strongest' you mean the league that is more competitive within it's borders, then that is a very debatable question that has multiple angles, but if 'strongest' means producing the most powerful teams and players: who represent their country competitively, internationally, then yes, that is La Liga without a doubt. Since the European competitions are the common ground that unite all leagues, they should be the yardstick for this topic.

The evidences of the Spanish league's dominance are quite lucid: Over a 10 year period (which I believe is an ideal time frame for this analysis), La Liga has produced 13 out of 20 winners of the 2 major European trophies; with the premiership being a distant second: producing only 3 winners. Furthermore they've also produced 8 of the last 10 European Super Cup winners and 9 of the last 10 Ballon D'or winners. Other great leagues like the Premiership and Bundesliga are completely overwhelmed by these figures; in fact, in the past 5 years alone 4 La Liga teams have won European trophies, 1from the Premiership and none from any other league.

Finally, 3 La Liga teams are in the top 5 of the current UEFA rankings occupying 1st, 2nd and 4th positions with a German and Italian team taking the other 2 positions. If these reasons do not convince even the most rigid skeptic about La Liga's superiority in Europe and ultimately, the world, nothing will.

@sooadknuz:

Comparing LA liga to any league in Europe is misnomer;- first ask yourself if each country play the same number of games per season otherwise the comparison is useless. Example, where EPL, laliga, ligue 1 & serie A , play 38 league games with 20 teams, the German Bundesliga play 34 with 18 teams. With this into considerations and each country internal Cup, such as FA cup in EPL you will find out that England teams play more competitive football then other countries in Europe. As a result of this one can not conclude that one particular country is stronger than the other;- since their energy level is not equal. Secondly , any club that has enough money to spend on big players in Europe comes out the best, the case of Real and Barca, how many clubs in Europe can compete with them? Therefore, for any meaningful comparison, they most be weighed on the same plane ground. That a country has been on top for the past 10 seasons or more does mean they are the best. You find out that most of these clubs players find it very difficult to adjust to life in another league. No league is equal but with enough money to buy enough very good players from foreign countries, your league becomes talk of the town.
